How it works

Need beats form.

A team that needs a result plays differently from one that doesn't. Late in a match, that need shows up in goals. Must Win Club looks for it.

The motive

Title

A point or two behind with games running out. A draw does them little good.

Promotion

An automatic place is still open, and only a win keeps them in it.

Play-off place

One place, several teams. Every goal moves the line.

Relegation

Points from safety with few games left. Holding on isn't enough.

From data to a published result

  1. Data

League tables, fixtures, live scores and stats, odds and referee records come in from data feeds, for more than 100 leagues.

  2. Rules

The same rules run on every match, through the match: what each team needs, how much time is left, the score and the odds.

  3. Pick

Live goal picks and draws go out the moment the rules agree. For cards, the system writes a referee report and we choose the picks from it. Each goes to Telegram with its reason, the odds and a stake in units.

  4. Result

After full time the system settles the pick from the match data, won, lost or void, and puts it on the public record.

Written by people, run by machines

Every match

No one can watch a hundred leagues. The system does, every matchday, and checks the motive in each match it follows.

On time

A late goal pick is worth something for a few minutes. It goes out as soon as the rules agree, not when someone notices.

The same rules

Every match is judged by the same rules. No favourite teams, no chasing a bad day.

Tested first

A rule changes only after it has been tested on the picks we've made since 2020, losses included.

Live and pre-match

Most picks are live goal picks. They come late in the second half, usually after the 65th minute, when a team that needs a goal has to go and get one.

Pre-match picks are mostly on cards, as singles or doubles, chosen from a referee report: how many cards a game the referee shows, and how often their matches went under or over the line.

Draws are pre-match too. Late in the season, some matches end level because a point keeps both teams safe, and the rules look for them.

Units

Stakes are in units. A unit is a fixed share of a bankroll, so a result reads the same whatever the size of the bankroll. A stake of 8 units at 4.00 that wins makes a profit of 24 units.

Why we publish losses

A record with the losses taken out isn't a record. Every pick is posted before the match is decided, and every result goes on the picks page: won, lost or void. The record starts in September 2020 and holds every pick since.

Losing weeks get the same recap as winning ones, in the same words.

What we don't do

  • No hidden picks. Every pick we post goes on the record.
  • No promises. Picks are opinions, not guarantees.
  • No pressure. Skip any pick you like.

Every pick goes to Telegram first.

Live picks come late in the second half, so the channel gets them before anywhere else. It's free to join.
